Malacañang has welcomed the increasing labor force participation rate in the country, saying it was the result of the administration's job fairs.

Of course, the President is happy and warmly welcomes this report, as it reflects the administration’s determination to provide better job opportunities for our fellow Filipinos),” Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said on Tuesday, July 8.
Attributing the declining number of jobless individuals to the conduct of job fairs around the country, Castro said the initiative will continue.
In our previous reports over the past days, we’ve highlighted numerous job fairs that have been conducted specifically for our countrymen, and the efforts will continue. This is not the end goal—it’s not just about celebrating success. The administration must do even better to create more jobs for our people),” Castro said.
Based on the Labor Force Survey by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the labor force participation rate in the country reached 65.8 percent in May 2025, higher than the 64.8 percent recorded in May 2024.
This translates to an additional 1.4 million Filipinos joining the labor force, which is currently at 52.32 million.
The unemployment rate dropped to 3.9 percent in May 2025, down from 4.1 percent in May 2024.
