Runners eager to test their limits and embrace the spirit of personal achievement will get the rare chance to do so when the ASICS Meta: Time Trials makes its Philippine debut on Oct. 19, at the Vermosa Sports Complex in Imus, Cavite.
Aimed at inspiring runners of all levels to push boundaries and chase personal records, the 10km road race is more than just a competition – it’s a global celebration of individual progress.
First launched in Malaga, Spain in 2022, the Meta: Time Trials has since gained a reputation for its fast courses, athlete-centric approach, and inclusive, performance-driven atmosphere. After successful editions in Thailand and Malaysia, the event now lands in the Philippines, where endurance sports such as the IRONMAN series continue to thrive and inspire.
“Now that it’s here in the Philippines, its success underscores the event’s potential within our local running talent and were excited to see more personal best set here right in our home ground,” said SONAK Brand Communication Executive Diego De Dios in the Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum on Tuesday at the conference hall of the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
Organized by Sunrise Events, Inc., the Philippine leg promises to deliver a world-class racing experience that underscores perseverance, personal success and the relentless pursuit of excellence.
With the support of Sonak Trading, the official distributor of ASICS in the Philippines, organizers are expecting a robust turnout of 3,500 participants, ranging from elite athletes and seasoned runners to enthusiastic beginners and up-and-coming talents.
“When they register, they have to indicate their personal best for 10KM since the Asics Meta Time Trials is only for 10KM,” added SONAK Corporation Brand Communications Manager Faith So, who was joined by technical product trainer Rey Maniego in the session presented by San Miguel Corporation, Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee, MILO, Smart/PLDT, and the country’s 24/7 sports app ArenaPlus.
The race is open to men and women 16-years-old and above.
Designed with personal bests in mind, the Meta: Time Trials provides a unique and supportive setting that encourages runners to break through barriers, both mental and physical. Every detail of the race – from the flat, fast route to the premium race-day amenities – is crafted to help participants perform at their peak.
In the lead-up to the event, ASICS Running Clubs will offer structured training programs, expert guidance and motivational support. These community-based initiatives aim to foster camaraderie, commitment, and shared passion among runners, turning preparation into a journey as fulfilling as race day itself.
Further cementing its identity as a top-tier running event, the Meta: Time Trials will also spotlight ASICS’ latest innovations in running technology and gear, giving participants the opportunity to experience firsthand the brand’s commitment to performance, comfort and injury prevention.
