EPD gears up for SONA 2025, civil disturbance management contest
Eastern Police District (EPD) Director Brig. Gen. Aden Lagradante on Tuesday, July 8, assured the police force's preparedness in the upcoming 2025 Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) Competition this month, which is also part of their training in strengthening their crowd control and security capabilities for President Marcos' State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 28.
EPD officers practice their crowd control maneuvers and formations for the upcoming 2025 CDM Competition and SONA 2025.
Lagradante said the CDM contingents include selected officers of the EPD under its District Mobile Force Battalion (DMFB), in partnership with the District Special Training Unit (DSTU).
The training enhances the officers' skills in performing the eight Basic CDM formations and their response to other situational scenarios that could happen during their actual deployment.
“Bilang mga tagapangalaga ng katahimikan at kaayusan, tungkulin naming maging laging handa sa anumang sitwasyon. Sa pamamagitan ng pagsasanay na ito, pinatitibay natin, hindi lamang ang ating pisikal na kahandaan, kundi maging ang ating disiplina at pagkakaisa bilang isang organisadong pwersa (As guardians of peace and order, it is our duty to always be prepared for any situation. Through this training, we strengthen not only our physical preparedness, but also our discipline and unity as an organized force),” Lagradante said.
“Sa pamamagitan ng patuloy na pagsasanay at paghasa ng kasanayan, tinitiyak ng Eastern Police District na laging handa ang kanilang hanay sa anumang hamon mapa-kompetisyon man o totoong sitwasyon para sa kaligtasan ng publiko at kapayapaan ng komunidad (Through continuous training and skills development, the Eastern Police District assures that its ranks are always ready for any challenge, be it competitive or real-life situations, for the safety of the public and the peace of the community),” he added.
