The quick response by the Pasay City Police to a reported shooting incident led to the arrest of the suspect who shot and seriously wounded his stepfather on July 5.
Pasay City Police Chief Col. Joselito De Sesto said the suspect, identified as Nicanor, 32, was arrested at around 7:37 p.m. along E. Rodriguez St., Barangay 165, Malibay, Pasay City.
De Sesto said the suspect shot his stepfather, Noel, 47, an e-bike driver, inside their home on Ilang-ilang St., Maricaban, Pasay City, after witnessing his mother being beaten up by the suspect after a heated argument.

Nicanor reportedly left their house and returned already armed with an unknown firearm and shot Noel. The victim was immediately brought to the Pasay City General Hospital for treatment.
The city police chief said operatives from the Tracker’s Team, in coordination with the Investigation and Detective Management Section (IDMS) and Sub-Station 7, conducted an operation that led to the immediate arrest of the suspect.
Nicanor was detained at the Pasay City Police custodial facility and was charged with frustrated homicide.
The police are still conducting a follow-up operation for the recovery of the firearm used by the suspect in shooting his stepfather.
