Go, Dela Rosa back Senate reso calling for Duterte's repatriation

Senators Christopher “Bong” Go and Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa have signed the Senate resolution seeking the immediate repatriation of former president Rodrigo Duterte back to the Philippines.
The resolution, which has yet to be filed by Sen. Robinhood “Robin” Padilla in the 20th Congress, expresses the sense of the Senate to urge the Philippine government to secure Duterte’s return to the country.
“Hindi ito basta panukala. Ito ay panawagan ng pagkakaisa, paggalang sa ating kasarinlan, at katarungan para sa isang Pangulong buong tapang na naglingkod sa bayan (This isn’t just a resolution. It is a call for unity, for respect of our sovereignty, and for justice for a former President who bravely served the nation,” Padilla said.
Padilla thanked both of his colleagues for their support and said he remains open to fellow senators who wish to sign the resolution.
Duterte, who is now detained at The Hague, Netherlands, was arrested on March 11 in Manila, and eventually delivered into the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) custody.
He is currently facing charges of crimes against humanity for the extrajudicial killings during his administration’s war on drugs.
