Carpenter fatally stabs uncle during drinking spree

BACOLOD CITY – A man was allegedly stabbed by his nephew to death during a drinking session in Sitio Ilog, Barangay Arebasore, Mabinay, Negros Oriental on Sunday, July 6.
Police withheld the names of the victim and the 42-year-old suspect, a carpenter.
Police Lt. Stephen Polinar, Negros Oriental police spokesperson, said the victim and the suspect were having a drinking session with friends when a heated argument erupted.
The suspect obtained a bladed weapon and stabbed his uncle  multiple times. The victim died on the spot.
Polinar said the suspect surrendered to barangay officials and turned over to the police.
He said the two relatives had no grudges against each other and were just drunk when they figured in the altercation.
Homicide charges have been filed against the suspect.
