Aboitiz Construction secures 3-year maintenance deal with Republic Cement
Aboitiz Construction has signed a three-year contract with Republic Cement and Building Materials Inc. (RCBM) to provide site-specific services—including industrial housekeeping and technical manpower support—across its Teresa, Bulacan, and Danao plants, with about 80 percent of manpower to be locally hired in support of community development.
Aboitiz Construction reported that it has signed a contract with Aboitiz Equity Ventures’ subsidiary Republic Cement and Building Materials Inc. (RCBM) to provide site-specific support across three of its key facilities.
In a statement, the engineering unit of the Aboitiz Group said this deal further strengthens its presence in the industrial maintenance services sector.
The agreement covers a three-year partnership for site services at the RCBM Norzagaray plant in Bulacan, the RCBM Teresa plant in Rizal, and the RCBM Danao City plant in Cebu.
Under the contract, Aboitiz Construction will deliver site-specific services, including industrial housekeeping and general upkeeping at RCBM-Teresa Plant, industrial housekeeping at RCBM-Bulacan Plant, and technical manpower support for maintenance at RCBM-Danao Plant.
The project is also expected to generate jobs, with around 80 percent of the total manpower to be sourced locally from host communities, in line with Aboitiz Construction’s commitment to creating positive economic impact in the areas where it operates.
“This partnership is a testament to the value we bring as a trusted construction and maintenance service provider. We are proud to support RCBM’s operations by delivering high-quality services while also helping uplift local communities through job creation,” said Aboitiz Construction Chairman, Director, and President Anton Perdices.
For his part, RCBM President Reinier Dizon said, “We're very happy to have this synergy with Aboitiz Construction. Our company is well aligned with them as they value safety, which is one of our core values, and we hope to have more partnerships with them in the future.”
AEV Chief Synergy Officer and Director of Aboitiz Construction, Eduardo Aboitiz, noted that it is a great example of synergy within the Aboitiz Group and reflects the Group’s commitment to finding meaningful ways for its business units to work together and unlock shared business opportunities.
The partnership builds on Aboitiz Construction’s capabilities in delivering end-to-end industrial maintenance services. It also aligns with the company’s broader strategy of expanding its maintenance portfolio, including similar works in the power, water, and heavy industries.
Aboitiz Construction expressed optimism about its continuing partnership with RCBM and looks forward to collaborating on future projects to support the cement company’s operational goals.
The firm also provides industrial maintenance services at a mining and nickel processing facility in Surigao del Norte, the Apo Agua water treatment plant in Davao City, and AboitizPower’s AP Renewables, Inc. for geothermal facilities in Laguna and Albay.
The company also provides services to AboitizPower Thermal Business Group (TBG) for its power plants—GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co. (GNPD), GNPower Mariveles Energy Center (GMEC), Therma South, Inc. (TSI), Therma Visayas, Inc. (TVI), Therma Marine, Inc. (TMI), and Therma Mobile, Inc. (TMO).
