He likewise stressed that collaboration between the national and local government units (LGUs) is crucial for delivering key programs, like food security and agricultural development.
“Tapos na po ang bahagi ng politika. Serbisyo publika na ang haharapin niyo ngayon (The political phase is over. What you will now face is public service),” he said.
“Malaking bahagi ang LGU sa paghahatid namin ng serbisyo sa taong bayan (The LGU plays a big role in our delivery of services to the public),” he added.
He particularly mentioned the “Benteng Bigas, Meron Na” program as one of the administration’s flagship programs that needed LGU support.
The program, now covering more areas nationwide, is supported by various agencies, including the Department of Agriculture (DA), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and local governments.
Marcos said the rice subsidy is targeted at vulnerable sectors and would be sustained through a “whole-of-government” approach.
