Fruit vendor stabbed to death by helper

TACLOBAN CITY – A 60-year-old female fruit vendor was allegedly stabbed to death by her helper, Sunday, July 6, at the Calbayog City Public Market.
Police said a witness heard the victim pleading for her life.
The witness saw the 20-year-old suspect holding a kitchen knife stabbing the victim several times in the body.
The witness called for help and the suspect was arrested by a police officer at the market.
The victim was taken to and declared dead at the Calbayog District Hospital.
Police have requested a post-mortem examination on the victim.
The suspect was often scolded by the victim.
