Government anti-narcotics agents seized on Saturday, July 5, around P20.4 million worth of shabu following the arrest of a businesswoman during a buy-bust operation in Talisay City, Cebu, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.
In a statement, the PDEA said that the flower shop owner alias Ann, 36, was nabbed at about 2:55 p.m. on R. Rabaya Street in Barangay Cansojong during the operation.
Upon further search, the team of the PDEA 7, Philippine National Police (PNP) Drug Enforcement Group 7 and Naval Forces Central later discovered about three kilos of suspected shabu.
Aside from shabu concealed in three packs, the authorities also confiscated the buy-bust money, two smartphones, several identification cards (IDs), automated transaction machine (ATM) cards and transaction notes.
“The pieces of drug evidence have been submitted to the PDEA 7 Regional Office laboratory for chemical analysis and proper disposition,’’ the PDEA said.
The suspect faces charges for violation of Sections 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), Article II of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.’’
