Chery Tiggo clawed back from a set down to outlast Capital1, 20-25, 25-23, 25-12, 28-26, in the PVL On Tour at the Ynares Center in Montalban, Rizal on Saturday, July 5.

It marked the Crossovers’ first win of the tournament, fueled by a dominant third-set surge capped by an 11-1 finishing run that completely shifted the momentum in their favor.

Cess Robles led the charge for Chery Tiggo with 17 points built on 15 attacks and two blocks, while rookie lefty Jyne Soreño made an impressive showing, firing 14 kills and a block to finish with 15 points. The former La Salle standout showcased poise and power, helping steady the Crossovers in crucial stretches.

Imee Hernandez also contributed eight points, including two blocks, while Ponggay Gaston added six markers after entering the match in the final two sets.

Chery Tiggo outgunned Capital1 in attacks, 59-50, but the Solar Spikers pushed them to the limit—particularly in the fourth set, where they staved off multiple match points before ultimately falling short.

Sydney Niego, Shola Alvarez, and Trisha Genesis kept Capital1 in contention with 10, 13, and 12 points, respectively.

The Solar Spikers, however, remained winless in three outings following earlier losses to the Creamline Cool Smashers and the Cignal HD Spikers.

In the nightcap, Akari recovered just in time to outlast ZUS Coffee, 26-24, 25-21, 17-25, 17-25, 17-15.

Grethcel Soltones turned in a vintage all-around performance for the Chargers by uncorking 23 points in a scoring shootout with Thunderbelles' ace Jovelyn Gonzaga, while also anchoring Akari's floor defense with 11 execellent digs and nine receptions.

Eli Soyud also delivered when it mattered most, unloading eight of her 19 points in the final set alone.
