Final post
In one of her final posts on Instagram, Lolit shared that she was hospitalized at Far Eastern University Hospital due to a kidney infection. She had also been undergoing dialysis treatment for quite some time.
Lolit mentioned in one of her posts that she felt weak and sick. However, she accepted her condition and stated that she might pass away soon.
Although Lolit feels she has lived a full life, she had previously prayed to live longer so she could be more active.
Lolit was the talent manager for celebrities such as actor Bong Revilla Jr., Lorna Tolentino, Tonton Gutierrez, Alfred Vargas, Christopher De Leon, and Mark Herras.
Her first showbiz talent is actor Gabby Concepcion. 'We just had a falling out when the (MMFF) scam happened.'

Controversial figure
In 1994, Lolit became a controversial figure when she was involved in the Metro Manila Film Festival Awards Night scam, where the winners were switched. At the height of the scandal, which almost ruined her career, she revealed that she had tried to commit suicide.
'When you reach a certain point in life, it sometimes feels like there's no more point to go on. Mabuti pa kaya matulog na lang ako forever,' said Nay Lolit in an interview with veteran entertainment host Aster Amoyo for her online show TickTALK with Aster Amoyo, uploaded on YouTube in 2022.
But Lolit said she did not pursue it. 'God will help you in your obstructions.' She added: 'Pagkasalanan ko inaamin ko talaga. Hindi ko na realize ganun karami ang susuporta sa akin. Kahit na marami kang basher, may makukuha ka pa ring respeto. (If it's my fault, I admit it. I didn't realize so many people would support me. Even if you have a lot of bashers, you can still get some respect.)'
When asked if there was anything she wanted to do that she hadn't done, Lolit laughed and joked, 'Gumawa uli ng another scam. (To carry out another scam.)'
When questioned if she could still pull it off, the feisty talent manager confidently replied, 'Ako pa!'
Lolit was asked to identify the top 'marites' (a person who loves gossip) she had ever encountered in local showbiz. She named the late actor Rudy Fernandez, commenting, 'His network was so extensive, and he had an abundance of gossip.'
Life lessons
Lolit has recognized the importance of giving back, stating that the secret to living is generosity.
'You pay forward. Kung ano man ang natikman mong (sarap sa buhay). Patikman mo rin sa iba kung kaya mo. Pinaka-kawawa sa lahat yung nanghihingi ka,' she added.
Lolit added that she has learned from her past mistakes. 'Kung ano man yung mga mistakes na nagawa mo nun, nakadagdag yun sa wisdom mo ngayon,' she said. (Whatever mistakes you made then, those added to your wisdom now.)'
At media conferences, Lolit was always early to arrive. In showbiz gatherings, Lolit always reminded fellow young writers and editors to be punctual and not to fight unless they were the ones who started the trouble.
A certified dog lover, Lolit said that she loves watching K-dramas. She said that love songs and Christmas tunes make her cry. 'Kapag nakakarinig ako ng love songs at Christmas songs naiiyak ako. Iyakin talaga ako.'
Lolit took up political science at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City, but did not complete her college education.
But before she became a showbiz columnist, she covered the police beat under popular columnist Ruther Batuigas. Then she joined showbiz under former talent manager Douglas Quijano, who Regal Films later hired.
Lolit gave a final full-length interview for Rolling Stones Philippines magazine in May.
