Memphis star guard Ja Morant makes his first visit to Manila on August 2 for the final stop of his Make Them Watch global tour with sports apparel giant Nike.
Morant will connect with his Filipino fans to share his experiences and help improve their game through a live workout with high school players and an exhibition game.
In his first international tour as a Nike signature athlete, Morant is teaming up with the brand to empower athletes around the world and bring their own creative flair to the game.
“Basketball is all about work and creativity—putting in that grind but also playing with your own style,” said the flashy guard who was the 2020 NBA Rookie of the Year and 2022 Most Improved Player.
“I’m excited to pull up and share a piece of my journey with the next generation of hoopers around the world,” he added.
Morant’s Make Them Watch world tour will kick off in New York during the city’s summer hoops celebration this month, before heading to China, Tokyo, and Manila.
“I also want to check how basketball is played in their own communities. Getting to learn new cultures through hoops is a unique opportunity and I’m hyped about that,” he added. (ANGELO CAPARAS/INTERN)
