Muntinlupa LGU, NACC sign accord on adoption, alternative child care programs

The Muntinlupa City government and the National Authority for Child Care (NACC) signed a memorandum of agreement aimed at strengthening the city’s adoption and alternative child care programs.
Under the agreement, the NACC will provide technical assistance and conduct capacity-building to the Muntinlupa Social Services Department (SSD).
The city government will institutionalize policies, implement advocacy sessions at the community level, and implement NACC programs and services including its program for children coming of age for independent living dubbed as “KAYA Ko: Kaalaman at Abilidad, Yamang Angkin Ko!”
Muntinlupa is second to the Quezon City government to sign a partnership agreement for the continuous implementation of the NACC’s adoption and alternative child care programs. Muntinlupa previously partnered with the NACC for the Philippine Foster Care Program (PFCP).
Since its establishment in 2022, the NACC has issued 1,063 orders of adoption for domestic adoption and entrusted 418 children for inter-country adoption.
Meanwhile, 1,075 children are being cared for under the PFCP. As of June 13, the NACC was able to develop 1,997 adoptive and foster care families.
“This MOA represents a shared commitment to protect, nurture, and secure the future of children in need of permanent and loving families and to ensure that no child is left behind. We all commit to make possible all means necessary so that whenever a child here in Muntinlupa loses a parent, the option of adoption and/or foster care is readily made available for the child to ensure that the child will be cared for by a family,” said NACC Usec. Janella Ejercito Estrada at the ceremony.
The signing was attended by Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon, Muntinlupa SSD head Analyn Mercado, NACC Director Imelda Ronda and NACC RACCO–NCR Officer-in-Charge Danny Gatmaitan.
