A man identified by the police as alias Hitler and his accomplice were arrested for robbing two female businesswomen in front of a restaurant in Barangay San Antonio, Makati City on July 1, the Makati City Police reported on Friday, July 4.
The police said the suspects are both residents of Taguig City.
According to Makati PNP OIC Col. Reycon Garduque, the victims were waiting for their Grab ride when the two motorcycle-riding suspects suddenly approached them, held them at gunpoint, and forcibly took their bags and cellphones before escaping in the direction of Chino Roces Avenue.
After the victims reported the incident to the police, the authorities quickly launched an operation for the arrest of the suspects.
Police said that through the description of the suspects, including their unique build, eyes, and neck tattoos, and CCTV footage capturing their movements, investigators gathered sufficient probable cause for a warrantless arrest against the two on July 2. They were positively identified by the victims as the perpetrators.
Hitler and his cohort, identified as alias Jonathan, were charged with robbery and are now detained at the Makati City Police Custodial Facility.
Further investigation revealed that the two suspects are repeat offenders for various crimes.
Hitler has prior arrests for violations of RA 9165, RA 10591, PD 1602, murder, homicide, and frustrated murder. He was released on bail in January 2025.
Meanwhile, Jonathan has past convictions for violations of RA 9165, murder, robbery, homicide, and holds five outstanding warrants for attempted homicide and murder.
“The Makati PNP is now conducting deeper investigations into possible links between the suspects and organized criminal groups, as well as other robbery cases across Metro Manila,” Garduque said.
