2 fire volunteers hurt as fire razes 15 houses in Manila

Two fire volunteers were injured in a blaze that gutted around 15 houses in a residential area in Barangay 375, Tambunting, Sta. Cruz, Manila, on Friday, July 4.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said an 18-year-old volunteer sustained lacerations and abrasions on his left leg, while another volunteer suffered a laceration on the nape. Both were given immediate medical attention.
The BFP said the blaze started at 2:09 p.m. in a two-story house made of light materials. It was raised to the second alarm at 2:16 p.m.
The fire escalated to the third alarm at 2:45 p.m. and was declared out at 4:36 p.m.
The fire displaced around 25 families, or 50 individuals, and caused an estimated P130,000 in damages.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
