The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has commenced the construction of a multi-purpose sports facility in Bacoor City, following a groundbreaking ceremony held on Friday, Jul. 4.
DPWH Region 4A Director Jovel G. Mendoza said the Ramon Revilla Sr. Sports Arena, located in Barangay Molino IV, is part of the administration’s infrastructure initiative under the Bagong Pilipinas campaign of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
Spanning 1.42 hectares of a government-owned property, the project’s first phase is supported by a P250-million allocation under the 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA), Mendoza added.
The facility will include a road network, sidewalks, an outdoor covered court, open activity areas, benches, plant boxes, lighting systems, decorative walls, and a monument plaza.
“This project is not just a facility—it’s an investment in the future of the community’s health, well-being, and unity,” Mendoza said.
Cavite 2nd District Representative Lani Mercado Revilla and Bacoor City Mayor Strike B. Revilla, who attended the groundbreaking, expressed support for the project and underscored its contribution to the city’s infrastructure and cultural landscape.
The project is being implemented by the DPWH Regional Office 4A and is expected to be completed by December 2025.
