Saudi-bound plane with 263 passengers makes emergency landing at NAIA
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) confirmed on Thursday, July 3, that a plane bound for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia safely returned to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) early Thursday morning following a reported aircraft technical issue.
At 12:51 a.m. , the CAAP Operations Center received a report from the Manila Area Control Center indicating that Flight SVA 871 was diverting back to Manila.
The aircraft landed at NAIA at 1:25 a.m.
CAAP is closely coordinating with the airline and concerned aviation authorities to ensure public safety and to maintain operational readiness at all times.
The aircraft is now parked at NAIA Terminal 1.
It is expected to depart tonight.
