CAMP COL. RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – A police officer from the Police Regional Office-13 brought honor to the country after winning multiple medals in the taekwondo competition of the 2025 World Police and Fire Games (WPFG) in Birmingham, Alabama, United States on June 30 and July 1.
Police Master Sgt. Edgar G. Pantohan, assigned to the Regional Learning and Doctrine Development Division- 13, earned one gold, two silvers, and one bronze in the Poomsae and Kyurogi categories.
He won a gold medal in the Team Poomsae (Under 30 Category), silver in the Mixed Pair Poomsae (Under 40 Category), and another silver in the Individual Poomsae (Under 40 Category) on June 30, and bronze medal in the Taekwondo Kyurogi Event Under 40 (80kg and above category) on July 1.
PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Christopher N. Abrahano lauded the police officer for bringing honor to the Philippine National Police and the nation.
“My heartfelt congratulations to Pantohan for bringing pride and honor not only to Police Regional Office-13 but to the entire nation,” he said.
“Continue to be an inspiration to your fellow police officers and to the Filipino youth who look up to men and women in uniform,” Abrahano added.
The WPFG, an Olympic-style international sporting event, gathered thousands of first responders and police officers from around the world, runs from June 27 to July 6.
