P10-M car accessories turn into ash in Marikina auto shop fire
A first alarm fire hit an auto shop in Barangay Sto. Niño, Marikina City early Thursday morning, July 3, the Bureau of Fire Protection Marikina (BFP Marikina) said.
The authorities said the fire that hit the auto shop located on 5th Street started at around 1 a.m. and was extinguished after an hour.

However, the blaze caused a huge amount of damage to property amounting to P10 million as the shop contains a fresh shipment of car parts for luxury vehicles.
One of the shop's employees said she first heard a crackling noise from inside the store and smelled a burning odor coming from it. This prompted her to peek into the window and saw the flames engulfing the establishment.
The shop's employees tried to stop the spread of the fire using fire extinguishers and called for help from firefighters.
Arson investigators said the fire started from the ground floor of the store. They are still investigating the cause of the fire.
