Mayor Isko meets with disaster response teams, police force
Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso
Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso held meetings with the city's key frontline agencies, the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), and the Manila Police District (MPD), on disaster preparedness and public safety during the rainy season.
Domagoso first convened a meeting on Wednesday, July 2, with the MDRRMO to discuss the city’s storm preparedness plans.
He also emphasized the importance of timely and accurate information dissemination, particularly during crises.
Due to the official Manila Public Information Office (MPIO) Facebook page not being properly turned over by previous staff, Domagoso said urgent announcements will be posted on his page in the meantime.
Later in the afternoon, the mayor proceeded to the MPD headquarters for his first command conference with city police officials.
The meeting tackled crime prevention strategies, law enforcement operations, and overall peace and order in Manila.
Domagoso reminded the police of their duty to uphold professionalism, discipline, and integrity.
“Walang lugar ang mga tolongges dito sa Maynila. Dahil nakahanda lagi ang Manila Police District dito. (There is no place for fools here. The Manila Police District is always ready) I will be with you all the way,“ the mayor said.
He expressed his support for the MPD and called for strong coordination between the city government and police force in protecting the welfare of Manileños.
The mayor is expected to continue holding consultations with more departments in the coming days.
