Kevin Quiambao begins his quest of realizing his NBA dream as he arrived in Sacramento, California on Thursday, July 3 (Manila time).
The 24-year-old Quiambao posted a story on his social media account which showed him arriving in the US where he aims to join training camps and impress scouts from the big league.
“Sactown babyyyy,” Quiambao wrote.
Quiambao, who plays for the Goyang Sono Skygunners in the Korean Basketball League (KBL), will meet with PBA legend and former Gilas Pilipinas star Jimmy Alapag who serves as an assistant coach for the Kings.
The Muntinlupa native is also hoping to land a spot in the NBA Summer League slated July 10 to 20.
In KBL, the two-time UAAP MVP turned heads in his first year with Goyang after posting 16.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.3 steals in 23 contests. His team finished eighth last season with a 19-35 slate.
