'Disente kaming tao': Atong Ang claps back at whistleblower, denies involvement in missing 'sabungero' case

Businessman and gaming tycoon Charlie 'Atong' Ang accused Julie 'Dondon' Patidongan alias 'Totoy' of being a liar following the latter's claims that Ang is the mastermind behind the disappearance of several cockfight watchers (sabungero).
In a media interview after filing multiple charges against Patidongan and Alan Bantiles alias 'Brown' at the Mandaluyong City Prosecutor's Office on Thursday, July 3, Ang said he was forced to fight back after he was repeatedly implicated in the crime, which tarnished his dignity and reputation, causing anxiety and stress to his family.

Ang's camp filed cases of attempted robbery with violence and intimidation, grave threat, grave coercion, incrimination against innocent persons, and slander against Patidongan and Bantiles.
'Kami ay mga disenteng tao, lahat ng ina-accuse nya dito matitino, walang kriminal dito. Masyado na kaming kawawa, kailangan na akong lumabas (We are decent people. All of the people he (Patidongan) is accusing are good individuals. No one is a criminal here. We are already too battered and pitiful because of his claims. I now have to reveal myself and fight back),' he said.
The businessman also revealed that the whistleblower was allegedly demanding P300 million from Ang's camp for him to recant his earlier testimonies.
'Ang puno't dulo talaga nito pera. Lahat ng grupo namin tinatawagan nila isa-isa, nag-e-extort eh. Akala ata nya pagkatapos nyang magsalita ng kung ano-anong kalokohan, pwede na lang syang biglang aalis kapag nakuha nya yung pera (The root of all these is money. They were calling all our men one by one to extort money. Maybe he thought that after saying so many slanderous non-sense, he can just walk away with the money),' Ang noted, stressing that he has nothing to do with the missing sabungero.
'Wala kaming kinalaman lahat dyan. Lahat ng grupo namin, mga disenteng tao yan. Ang hilig lang namin sabong lang. Hindi namin alam ano talaga nangyari dyan (We have nothing to do with that. All our men are good and decent. We are just cockfighting aficionados and we have no idea as to what happened to the missing sabungero),' he explained.
