The Mandaluyong City local government announced the suspension of afternoon classes in all levels on Thursday, July 3, due to heavy rains brought about by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).
According to the city's Public Information Office (PIO), morning classes in the city will continue as scheduled.
As of 9:30 a.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued a Heavy Rainfall Warning in Metro Manila and other provinces including Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, and Laguna.
The agency said this level of rainfall may cause flooding in low-lying or flood-prone areas.
