- The class suspension came as PAGASA continues to monitor a low pressure area with a high chance of developing into a tropical depression.
Cavite Gov. Abeng Remulla announced the suspension of classes from elementary to senior high school in all public and private schools across the province on Friday, July 4, due to unfavorable weather conditions.
The governor announced the class cancellation on Facebook Thursday evening, July 3.
“Inagahan na natin, para hindi na kayo magalit sa akin! (We announced this early so you will not get mad at me!),” Remulla wrote.

Earlier on July 3, the governor announced the suspension of classes at 6:32 a.m., drawing complaints from some who said the notice came too late, as students were already on their way to school by then.
Other netizens, meanwhile, were more understanding, encouraging Caviteños to give Remulla some leeway as he is a first-time governor.
In the comment section, Remulla apologized for his late announcement.
“Pasensya na mga ka-Cavite, minsan talaga ang ulan mabilis, pero ang memo mabagal! Pero gaya ng pag-ibig—mas mabuting huli kaysa wala! Babawi ang Gov. niyo, aagahan natin sa susunod (My apologies, fellow Caviteños. Sometimes the rain comes quickly, but the memo comes slowly. But just like love—better late than never! Your governor promises to make the announcements earlier next time),” he wrote.
In his latest class suspension announcement, Remulla advised students to work on their modules, stay at home, and help with household chores.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the low-pressure area within the Philippine Area of Responsibility has a high likelihood of developing into a tropical depression.
