Oscar winners among spectators in Eala-Krejcikova duel

The stars were present at the fabled Centre Court to watch the match between Alex Eala and defending champion Barbora Krejcikova in the first round of the Wimbledon Tuesday night, July 1.
The two players did not disappoint to give the crowd a showdown worthy of applause and attention on the second day of competition, with the Filipina ace showing big promise and the Czech standout pulling all the stops to prevail in three sets, 3-6, 6-2, 6-1.
Among the spectators in the Eala-Krejcikova clash were some Hollywood celebrities, including Oscar winners Cate Blanchett and Russell Crowe.
Also present at the All England Club on that day were comedian Rebel Wilson, actor Jason Isaacs, fencer Miles Chamley-Watson, and model Mia Regan, to name a few.
Meanwhile, members of the British Royal Family graced the first day with Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, making a rare appearance at the royal box after so many years alongside her daughter Princess Beatrice.
Ferguson was a close friend of the late Princess Diana who was always with her when they attended Wimbledon games back in the days.
Notable English footballer David Beckham, actors Jessica Alba, Eddie Redmayne, Isla Fisher, and Simu Liu were also there on the first day, as well as five-time Grand Slam winner Maria Sharapova, who once reigned in Wimbledon 21 years ago.
Despite her early exit in the prestigious meet, the 20-year-old Eala earned £66,000 or around P5 million pesos.
