BACOLOD CITY – Mayor Greg Gasataya has ordered all city government personnel to return to their original plantilla positions or mother units, regardless of their current rank, position, or assignment, effective July 1.
Gasataya issued the directive in an executive order he signed upon assuming office at noon on Monday, June 30.
The executive order cancels all existing detail, reassignment, or transfer orders, emphasizing the need to account for personnel based on their official plantilla assignments.
“All existing detail, reassignment, or transfer orders are hereby recalled, cancelled, or revoked effective immediately,” he said.
Gasataya said the move aims to promote good governance, institutional discipline, and more efficient public service delivery.
Employees who fail to comply may face administrative sanctions. Any future requests for transfers or reassignments must be justified in writing by the requesting department heads, Gasataya said.
Staff are also required to properly turn over pending tasks, responsibilities, and any accountable property or equipment to their immediate supervisors before returning to their original units.
The mayor also issued an executive order establishing a Senior Citizen Center here that will offer essential services to senior citizens such as health programs, recreational activities, skills training, counseling, and social welfare assistance.
Gasataya underscored the city’s commitment to enhance the well-being and quality of life of its elderly population.
He led a surprise drug test for select government employees on Monday at the Bacolod City Government Center, including himself and four executive assistants. All tested negative.
He said it is in support of the government’s anti-illegal drug campaign.
