Reelected Isabela City, Basilan mayor takes oath

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Isabela City, Basilan Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, together with other city officials, took their oath during the Pasínaya: 9th Inauguration of the Elected Local Government Officials on June 30 at the Isabela City Civic and Cultural Center.

The event marked the start of a new term for re-elected Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman and newly-elected Vice Mayor Ar-Jhemar Ajibon, along with the city’s Sangguniang Panlungsod members.

In her speech, Mayor Hataman stressed the importance of trust, empathy, and accountability in governance while reflecting on her administration's efforts to empower communities and enhance government services.

She expressed her deep connection to the city and optimism for its future.

Ajibon described his role as a sacred trust and pledged to lead with purpose and inclusivity.

He announced plans for capacity-building activities for local officials and called for collaboration to build a progressive Isabela City. The event concluded with a cultural performance celebrating the city's vibrant identity.
