Marcy Teodoro's supporters urge Comelec to proclaim him
Supporters of former Marikina City Mayor Marcy Teodoro trooped to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Marikina's office on Tuesday, July 1, to urge the agency to proclaim him as the city's 1st District representative after the Comelec en banc officially declared the finality and immediate executory effect of its June 25 resolution reinstating his candidacy.
The group chanted “Laban! Laban!” as they eagerly waited for Comelec to proclaim Teodoro after his decisive victory against former Senator Koko Pimentel in the May elections.

In a 38-page resolution promulgated on June 25, the Comelec en banc granted Teodoro’s consolidated motions for reconsideration and reversed the commission's First Division’s December 11, 2024 ruling that canceled his CoC.
According to the agency, the resolution is now final and executory as no restraining order was issued by the Supreme Court (SC) within the five-day window after promulgation.
