Setter Mars Alba has officially parted ways with the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, while middle blocker Mich Gamit joins the Creamline Cool Smashers in a pair of recent developments involving the two sister teams.
Choco Mucho confirmed Alba’s departure in a social media post on Monday night, June 30, amid her ongoing stint with the national team at the VTV Cup in Vietnam.
“Your exceptional playmaking and court smarts will remain significant contributions to the team. You’ll always be a Titan. Good luck on your next chapter,” the statement read.
Prior to the announcement, Choco Mucho had selected Fil-American Tia Andaya in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Rookie Draft last month, joining fellow setters Deanna Wong, Jem Ferrer, and Alba on the roster.
Alba’s last appearance with the Flying Titans was during the 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference last April, where the team finished fourth.
Meanwhile, Creamline welcomed Gamit to the squad on Tuesday afternoon, July 1, in a social media post just hours before their PVL On Tour match against Cignal.
“May bagong Pink Volleybelle na magbibigay sa atin ng good vibes! Mga ka-vibes, sabay-sabay nating i-welcome si Michelle Gamit! We are so happy to have you as a new member of our GV-Kada,” the post read.
Gamit previously played for the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles in the last conference, where she teamed up with reigning Rookie of the Year Thea Gagate.
With her addition, Gamit is expected to bolster Creamline’s front court rotation alongside Pangs Panaga, Pau Soriano, and Lorie Bernardo.
