Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval reaffirmed her commitment to serve Malabueños with transparency, compassion, and a forward-looking vision during the oath-taking ceremony held at the Malabon Sports Center on Monday, June 30.
Sandoval expressed gratitude for the trust and support of Malabueños, underscoring that her leadership is a shared achievement made possible through collective effort.
“Hindi ko ito nagawa nang mag-isa, kayo ang mga kamay na nag-aabot ng serbisyo kahit walang kamera. Kayo ang mga paa na umaabot sa pinakamalayong barangay—kayo ang tunay na bayani ng ating lungsod (I could not have done this alone. You are the hands that deliver service even when no cameras are around. You are the feet that reach the farthest barangays—you are the true heroes of our city),” she said.
She also recognized the vital role that citizens play in governance, citing their participation in community assemblies, feedback in public services, and active involvement in programs.
“Kayo ang puso ng pamahalaan. Wala kaming saysay kung wala ang taong pinaglilingkuran (you are the heart of the local government. We have no purpose without the people we serve),” Sandoval said.
The mayor administered the oaths of Vice Mayor Edward Nolasco and the elected city councilors of both districts. For District 1: Maricar Torres, Ian Emmanuel Borja, Leslie Yambao, Paulo Oreta, Gerry Bernardo, and Payapa Ona. For District 2: Nadja Marie Vicencio, Jasper Cruz, Len Yanga, and Rom Cunanan.
“Here are the public servants who will join us in reaching our goals. Together, hand in hand, we work for a more progressive, inclusive, and brighter future for Malabon. You can be assured that we will continue to serve genuinely, faithfully, and in a way that truly resonates with the people,” Sandoval said.
During the ceremony, Sandoval also took her own oath of office, administered by Malabon City Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Rosario Inez-Pinzon, and witnessed by First Gentleman Ricky Sandoval and their family.
“Ngayong araw, muli akong nanunumpa sa inyong harapan. Hindi lamang sa tungkulin ng pagiging alkalde, kundi sa paninindigang itaguyod ang malinaw, makatao, at makabagong Malabon (Today, I once again take my oath before you. Not only to fulfill the responsibilities of being mayor, but to uphold the vision of a clear, compassionate, and progressive Malabon),” she said.
“Ituloy po natin ang laban, ipagpatuloy natin ang pag-ahon. Ngunit kung tutusin, ang mga boto ay hindi lamang numero (Let us continue the fight and carry on with our progress. Because in truth, those votes are more than just numbers — they represent hope, trust, and the shared dream of a better future),” she added.
Sandoval won the 2025 election with 120,757 votes, she said that she truly felt the message and trust of the Malabueños.
The mayor also said that during her first term, what stood out most were the stories of triumph and recovery.
She emphasized that her first term as mayor was not defined by ceremonies or headlines, but by the stories of recovery and lives changed through the city’s programs.
“Isa itong tiwala na hindi ko pwedeng sayangin.
Isa itong paalala ng bawat proyekto. Bawat serbisyo, bawat pulso ng bayan ay may pangalan, may mukha, may buhay na nakataya (It is a trust I cannot afford to waste.
It is a reminder that behind every project, every service, every pulse of the city—there is a name, a face, a life at stake),” Sandoval added.
The mayor also expressed her gratitude to Malabuenos for their continued trust and vowed to deliver services that are sincere, inclusive, and felt by all.
The event marked the official start of the officials’ new terms and reaffirmed their commitment to serve the people of Malabon with integrity, transparency, and accountability.
It also underscored their pledge to uphold the law and prioritize public welfare.
