The mayor added that her administration will also push for the improvement of the city's medical and nutrition services, improve Mandaluyong's education sector most especially in ensuring the digital literacy of its youth, implementation of mental health awareness-centered initiatives, and further enhancing the city's economy.
“Bibitbitin ko ang hangaring alagaan at pagyabungin ang kaunlaran ng Mandaluyong na may matatag na ekonomiya, mahusay na edukasyon, mainam na kalusugan, mapayapang komunidad, at progresibong pamilya (I will carry the desire to nurture and promote the development of Mandaluyong with a strong economy, excellent education, good health, peaceful communities, and progressive families),” Abalos said during her speech.
“Tandaan po natin na ang paglilingkod na may pagmamahal ay paglilingkod na hindi nagpagpapaliban, walang pinipili, at hindi pasusupil sa gitna ng krisis o pagsubok (Let us remember that service with love is service that does not delay, does not discriminate, and does not yield to pressure amid crisis or trial),” she noted.
Abalos earned the distinction of becoming Mandaluyong's first female mayor during her first term in 2016 to 2022. She is the wife of former Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary and Mandaluyong Mayor Benhur Abalos.
