Malacañang announced Nepomuceno's designation on Monday, June 30, the same day he took his oath of office.
The new Customs commissioner served as the Executive Director of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
Before being appointed as OCD administrator, Nepomuceno also served as deputy commissioner of the BOC's Enforcement Group.
Nepomuceno will replace outgoing Customs commissioner Bienvenido Rubio.
Rubio also submitted his courtesy resignation in May when Marcos asked all his Cabinet secretaries to file their resignation amid a massive Cabinet performance evaluation.
His resignation was, however, not approved by the President. He was among the 20 Cabinet officials whose resignations were declined by Marcos as of June 3.
