Fuel price rollback: Gasoline down ₱1.4, diesel ₱1.8 starting Tuesday
After a week marked by two phases of price increases, motorists can finally expect a reprieve at the pump as oil prices are set to drop in the first week of July.
Effective Tuesday, July 1, the price of gasoline will decrease by ₱1.40 per liter, while diesel will decrease by ₱1.80 per liter.
Kerosene is also set to drop by ₱2.20 per liter.
Shell Pilipinas, Seaoil, and Cleanfuel are among the oil companies that have announced these adjustments.
Subsequently, public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers will receive discounts from Petron, Shell, Caltex, and Cleanfuel, in lieu of the recent staggered price increases.
According to the Department of Energy (DOE), Petron Super Driver Card (SDC) holders can get a discount of around ₱0.50 to ₱3 per liter, while Shell will give ₱1 to ₱5 per liter discounts to PUV drivers and ₱2 to ₱3 discounts to Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) drivers.
Caltex is also offering a ₱2.50 per liter discount on motor gasoline, ₱1.50 per liter on diesel, and ₱10 per liter on lubricant products.
Cleanfuel will provide ₱1 off per liter of diesel and ₱2 off per liter of gasoline for PUVs and non-operator taxi drivers through the Pasada card.
This week’s price adjustment is attributed to the easing of the geopolitical tensions between Iran, Israel, and the United States (US).
Because of this, the market is focusing again on normal conditions, with demand for fuel increasing as a result.
