2 dead as pickup truck crashes in Benguet

BOKOD, Benguet – Two people died after a pickup truck with five people onboard plunged into a 300-meter ravine in Sitio Jappas, Barangay Bobok-Bisal, this town, on June 30.
The Bokod Municipal Police Station said the pickup truck was on its way to Baguio City from Tabuk City, Kalinga and traversing Ambuklao Road when the accident happened at about 3 a.m.
Initial investigation said the driver lost control of the vehicle when its steering wheel locked.
The vehicle fell into the ravine and the victims were taken to the hospital where two were declared dead.
Two of them were transferred to a hospital in Baguio City.
The driver was discharged and under police custody.
