Three church burglars fall in cops' 2-minute response in QC
Police collared three suspected robbers who allegedly ransacked a construction site of a church in Quezon City, with the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) attributing the arrest to a two-minute response of the local lawmen.
NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin said operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) were immediately dispatched in Barangay Bungad after receiving a call from 911 about the robbery on Saturday, June 28.
“Within two minutes, a mobile unit was dispatched and arrived on scene which demonstrates the NCRPO’s ability to execute rapid deployment and real-time coordination,” said Aberin.
The call came from members of the church who reported that the suspects took copper tubes from its air-conditioning system. A tricycle was seen nearby, serving as the suspects’ getaway vehicle.
Aberin said barangay officials assisted the local police in tracking down the suspects, adding that the tricycle was also recovered.
“Arriving within two minutes from the call for assistance shows our people that they are never alone in times of danger,” said Aberin.
National police chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III earlier ordered all police commanders to ensure the implementation of police quick response on reported crimes via 911 call.
