GMA Integrated News wins Silver, finalist honors at prestigious U.S. International Awards

GMA Integrated News continues to enhance journalistic excellence, bringing honor to the Philippines once more at the prestigious 2025 U.S. International Awards.
The flagship newscast 24 Oras won a Silver award in the Documentaries & Reports – Social Issues category for its compelling coverage of the societal impact of the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO) industry. The award-winning stories, reported by Saleema Refran and Sandra Aguinaldo, highlighted the extensive consequences of POGO-related crimes and their effects on local communities.
The report titled Unang Balita: Pinsala ng El Niño, created by Darlene Cay, has been recognized as a Finalist in the Documentaries & Reports category for Environment, Ecology & Sustainability. This recognition is due to its timely and impactful coverage of the devastating effects of the El Niño phenomenon on the livelihoods of Filipinos and the environment.
