19-year-old arrested for child abuse, cybercrime in Muntinlupa
Police arrested a 19-year-old man wanted for child abuse and cybercrime in Muntinlupa on June 27.
The suspect, identified as Jero, was arrested by operatives from the Muntinlupa police’s Warrant and Subpoena Unit. Jero was tagged as the police’s No. 5 most wanted person.

Jero is facing three counts of violation of Section 10(a) of Republic Act 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act) in relation to Republic Act 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).
Section 10(a) of Republic Act 7610 states that “any person who shall commit any other acts of child abuse, cruelty or exploitation or to be responsible for other conditions prejudicial to the child's development including those covered by Article 59 of Presidential Decree No. 603, as amended, but not covered by the Revised Penal Code, as amended, shall suffer the penalty of prision mayor in its minimum period.”
He was nabbed based on a warrant of arrest issued by Presiding Judge Wehrly Gutierrez-Mendez of the Muntinlupa Family Court Branch 8. Bail was set at P80,00 for each country.
The suspect was turned over to the Custodial and Detention Unit of the Muntinlupa police pending the issuance of a commitment order by the court.
A check made by the police through the Investigation Solution Automatic Verification (ISAV) system revealed that Jero has no other criminal record on file.
