PEÑABLANCA, Cagayan -- The LGBTQIA+ community in Cagayan condemned the gruesome killing of a transwoman whose body was found floating on a river in Amulung, Cagayan on Monday, June 23.
The group sought justice for Gian Molina, 18, a resident of this town, and incoming first year Business Management student at Cagayan State University Caritan Campus.
Her body was recovered with serious wounds in her face and other parts of her body.
The victim reportedly left her home on Saturday, June 21, to sleep at the house of a LGBTQIA+ friend in Zone 5 here when she went missing.
Police said that they have identified persons of interest.
The victim’s body was subjected to a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of her death.
An LGBTQIA + group in Cagayan appealed for justice for the victim. “Let’s stop hate towards LGBTQIA +, especially the transgender woman!”
