Mayor-elect Edwin Olivarez together with his wife Janet, Congressman-elect Eric Olivarez, and Atty. Ding Soriano.
The newly elected Parañaque officials took their oath of office on Friday, June 27, led by Congressman Edwin Olivarez, who will be returning to serve as the city mayor.
Olivarez, together with team “Bagong Parañaque,” took their oath before Justice Fernanda Lampas-Perlata, Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeals, at the 9th People's Hall, located inside the Legislative Building of the Parañaque City Hall.
He will be replacing his brother, current Mayor Eric Olivarez, who will be returning and serving as congressman for the 1st District, while Brian Yamsuan will serve for the 2nd District.
In his inaugural speech, Olivarez welcomes Vice Mayor Florencio “Benjo” Bernabe III and the city council, who will be working with him for a more progressive Paranaque.
The returning mayor said that he will continue to work on what he started in making the city grow, which are the pillars of his “Bagong Parañaque” vision: B-for business and environment-friendly practices; A- for academic excellence for education and culture; G- for good governance and public order; O- for opportunity for livelihood and housing; N-for nutrition, health, senior citizen welfare and social services and G- for God centered leadership.
