The suspect in the fatal shooting of a 50-year-old businesswoman in Quezon City was arrested by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Wednesday, June 25.
According to the police report, the suspect was identified as alias Jerald, 31, and a resident of Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City.

Two days after the incident, a Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage showed that the suspect was seen entering a house at Creekside, Pilot Area, Barangay Commonwealth.
Authorities from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit and personnel from PS 6 and CIDG-QCDFU conducted a joint hot pursuit operation at around 5:00 p.m.
Police recovered a .40 Glock pistol with an inserted magazine loaded with ten live ammunition. When asked for the pertinent documents of his firearm, the suspect presented an expired License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) and an expired Permit to Carry Firearms Outside Residence (PTCFOR).
The QCPD will recommend to the Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO) the revocation of the firearm’s registration under the suspect’s name.
Charges for murder and violation of R.A. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) were already filed against the suspect before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
