The Angels clash with the Nxled Chameleons in the 6:30 p.m. nightcap after the Flying Titans square off with the Galeries Tower Highrisers in a pair of matches pitting teams from Pool A.
The four teams hope to display their strong showing and follow the footsteps of Creamline and Cignal, who claimed their first two victories over Akari and Capital1 in the two-day inaugural leg in Vigan, Ilocos Sur last week.
Petro Gazz, however, is expected to have its hands full with the absence of key players Brooke Van Sickle and MJ Phillips due to their national team duties, but the Angels are confident of their arsenal composed of Jonah Sabete, Myla Pablo and Aiza Pontillas.
Out to provide variety of plays for Petro Gazz are veteran setters Djanel Cheng and Chie Saet as the squad hopes to carry the momentum of their championship victory a few months ago.
Choco Mucho, which finished fourth in the previous conference, meanwhile, is expected to miss newly-drafted Fil-American setter Tia Andaya also due to PH team duties, but the Flying Titans already boast of their depth with the presence of Royse Tubino, Isa Molde and Des Cheng in front of their assault.
Galeries Tower and Nxled, meanwhile, are eager to make a statement and redeem themselves from a forgettable showing the last time. The Highrisers finished eighth in the previous All-Filipino Conference, while the Chameleons wound up 12th and last.
Jewel Encarnacion, Ysa Jimenez and France Ronquillo are expected to carry the fight for Galeries Tower against Choco Mucho, while Nxled has EJ Laure, Lycha Ebon and Chiara Permentilla in challenging the intensity of Petro Gazz.
After Saturday’s double-header, the four teams switch rivals for Sunday’s playdate with Petro Gazz battling Nxled at 4 p.m. and Choco Mucho facing Galeries Tower at 6:30 p.m. at the same venue.
