Oftana saves the day as TNT survives ROS in OT

The versatile winger showed nerves of steel, coolly sinking three pressure-packed free throws to tie the game with 7.7 seconds left in regulation and then draining a booming triple that triggered a back-breaking 8-0 run for TNT in overtime.
Oftana actually took on the scoring cudgels in the absence of Game 1 hero RR Pogoy in the second half, firing 37 points – 28 of which he poured in the second half and overtime – to go with his nine rebounds, three blocks and a steal.
Jordan Heading added a double-double of 13 points and 11 assists laced with six rebounds while Pogoy, who failed to finish the contest due to a hamstring issue, still finished with 11.
Kelly Williams, who drained another clutch triple that gave TNT a 107-101 lead in OT, chipped in nine points, 12 rebounds and three blocks.
TNT actually looked to be on its way to losing Game 2 when Rain or Shine erased a 14-point deficit and took a 99-96 lead in the waning seconds.
Oftana, refusing to give up, ran the length of the court and attempted a triple while perfectly anticipating a foul from Gian Mamuyac whose ROS still had a foul to give.
Oftana then nailed the three free throws to send the game to the extra period where ROS seemingly ran out of steam.
Adrian Nocum paced ROS with 27 points, though he shot poorly from deep on a 2-of-11 clip. Caelan Tiongson, who sparked the fourth quarter rally for the Elasto Painters, added 18 while Gian Mamuyac and Jhonard Clarito added 16 apiece in a losing effort.
