San Miguel built a big lead and, unlike in Game 1, never looked back this time to take down Barangay Ginebra, 100-83, and even their best-of-seven semifinals series at 1-1 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Friday, June 27.

Marcio Lassiter, Mo Tautuaa and Kris Rosales helped the Beermen open the floodgates in the first half before the rest of the bench followed through to bounce back from the heartbreaking 71-73 loss in the series opener.

The veteran gunner stepped up for an SMB side worried about the availability of June Mar Fajardo heading into the contest, draining all of his four triples in the first half to set the tone for the Beermen.

Lassiter finished with 16 points while Tautuaa held the fort in Fajardo's limited minutes with a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Rosales was also a spark off the bench with 13 points, four rebounds and four assists as three other Beermen scored in the double figures in a balanced offensive attack for SMB.

Don Trollano added 14 while Jericho Cruz and CJ Perez had 11 apiece. Fajardo, who was a game-time decision heading into the contest due to a right calf injury, only played for 17 minutes, finishing with two points and seven rebounds.

SMB led by as many as 13, 54-41, in the first half and while Ginebra repeatedly threatened early in the third frame, the Beermen simply had every answer before finally pulling away for good.

SMB even erected a 23-point lead, 90-67, in the payoff period as head coach Tim Cone seemingly raised the white flag early by fielding some of the Kings bench players.

Stephen Holt, who was the hero of Game 1, had 17 points to lead Ginebra, although he lacked support with Scottie Thompson only finishing with nine and Japeth Aguilar limited to just five.
