The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) expressed gratitude to President Marcos Jr. for leading the inauguration of the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) “Valor Clinic” at Fernando Air Base in Lipa City, Batangas on Friday, June 27.
Marcos was accompanied by Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr., AFP Chief, General Romeo Brawner Jr., and PAF Commanding General, Lt. Gen. Arthur Cordura during the unveiling ceremony for the “Valor Access to Lifetime Optimized Health Care Program” (Valor) Clinic which aims to extend the services of the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) beyond Metro Manila.
“The newly opened Valor Clinic is part of a broader initiative led by VMMC to bring vital medical services closer to veterans and their families, especially those living outside Metro Manila,” the AFP said in a statement.
The military pointed out that the establishment of the Valor Clinic would help decongest the VMMC’s main facility in Quezon City.
Further, the military said it also “reflects the government's continued efforts to decentralize healthcare and honor the contributions of the country’s veterans.”
It said the Valor Clinic would extend the VMMC’s services to other regions, providing veterans and their dependents with enhanced access to quality care.
The Valor Clinic is manned by VMMC personnel and delivers a comprehensive outpatient care including basic consultations, diagnostic exams, pharmacy services, and teleconsultation capabilities.
Meanwhile, Marcos assured full support to the Philippine Air Force (PAF) during his address to personnel of the Air Education and Training Command at the Fernando Air Base.
The PAF said that the Commander-in-Chief gave an assurance that the national government would exert all efforts to provide the troops with the best possible equipment, training, and facilities.
Earlier, Cordura bared that the PAF would aggressively pursue its multi-role fighter (MRF) acquisition program under the Re-Horizon 3 modernization of the AFP to complete its integrated air defense system (IADS).
