Woman, 18, choked to death in Albay by BF during spat

Police file homicide charges vs suspect

LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – Police filed homicide charges against the boyfriend of an 18-year-old woman who was choked to death and buried in a remote area in Barangay Pawa in Tabaco City, Albay recently.
In a statement on Thursday, June 26, the Tabaco City Police Station (CPS) said that after the confession and admission of the crime, and following the retrieval of the victim’s body, the PNP filed a murder charge against the suspect through inquest proceedings.
On June 20, the victim went missing and after two days, her boyfriend surrendered to police accompanied by parents.
Police said the suspect admitted the crime and pointed where he buried the body of the victim to the police.
Initial investigation disclosed that the couple had a heated argument where the suspect choked the victim to death.
Police are conducting an in-depth investigation and assured justice will serve to the bereaved family.
