Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano took her oath of office before Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo on June 26.
“I have officially taken my oath for a new term as your City Mayor, administered by Hon. Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo. With a heart full of gratitude, I thank the Lord for blessing me with another chance to serve—this is a calling I hold close to my heart,” Cayetano posted on Facebook.
Her sister-in-law, Senator Pia Cayetano, also took her oath before Gesmundo.
The oath-taking ceremony, held at the new city hall, was witnessed by Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, the mayor’s husband, Senate President Francis Escudero, Senator Joel Villanueva, Taguig Vice Mayor Arvin Alit, Taguig-Pateros 1st District Rep. Ricardo Cruz Jr., and Taguig 2nd District Rep. Jorge Bocobo.
To every Taguigeño, thank you for the love, trust, and support you’ve continued to show me through the years. Your faith in me strengthens my commitment to serve with honesty, compassion, and dedication. From the bottom of my heart—thank you. Let’s continue walking together, hand in hand, as we build a brighter, better future for Taguig,” Mayor Cayetano added.
Mayor Cayetano won her second term as mayor in the May 12 national and local elections.
