NEWLY-ELECTED officials of Leyte are sworn in on June 26.
PALO, Leyte – Newly-elected officials from 40 municipalities and two cities in Leyte province took their oath at the Leyte Convention Center here on Thursday, June 26.
Mayor Mary Dominique Oñate of the municipality of Palompon is excited as a neophyte elected official.
“Our priorities are health and education but right now we are trying to see what we can do with what we have already, with the plans already established before,” she said.
She added that in her first 100 days, she will push for new insights and projects.
Engineer DM will replace her father who taught her to absorb everything and learn as fast as she could so she could govern well.
Now on his second term, Mayor Eduardo Ong Jr. of Carigara town, who also succeeded his late father, said that he will continue with infrastructure development such as the construction of a super health center and the expansion of their public market.
Ong thanked the people for his landslide win. “It’s nice to see that Carigaran-ons want continuous development. We will also push for sustainable tourism and develop tourism sites.”
Gov. Jericho Petilla led the induction graced by Tingog party-list Rep. Jude Acidre.
