Pasig LGU to provide free anti-pneumonia vaccines to seniors, individuals with comorbidities
As part of the Araw ng Pasig celebration, the city government is now accepting online registrations for its free anti-pneumonia vaccination program for 1,000 senior citizens and individuals with comorbidities on July 1.

The local government said that eligible senior citizens include:
•Those 60 years old and above who are first-time recipients of the PPV23 (Pneumococcal Polysaccharide Vaccine) may receive one dose
•Those previously vaccinated with PPV23 before turning 60, may receive another dose if at least five years have passed since the first dose
Adults (20 to 59 years old) with specific health conditions (comorbidities) may also receive the PPV23 vaccine if they have any of the following:
•Chronic renal failure
•Congenital or acquired asplenia
•Immunodeficiency (B- or T-cell, complement C1–C4 deficiency, phagocytic disorder)
•Generalized malignancy, HIV, Hodgkin disease
•Iatrogenic immunosuppression (long-term steroid use, radiation therapy)
•Leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma
•Nephrotic syndrome, sickle cell disease
•Solid organ transplant recipient (excluding stem cell transplant)

Registrants are required to upload a valid ID showing their complete address, a flu or pneumococcal vaccination card (if available), a medical certificate with diagnosis (for adults with comorbidities), and a senior citizen ID.
The city government clarified that only registrants who are verified by the City Health Department–Immunization Program and who receive an SMS confirmation containing their queue number (indicating their vaccination order) will be vaccinated.
