Freak accident: Woman run over by truck after motorcycle crashes

CEBU CITY – A 41-year-old woman died after a 10-wheel truck ran over her on a highway in Toledo City, Cebu province on Wednesday morning, June 25.
Police identified the fatality as Mitchelle Padwelan Paragoso, resident of Barangay Poog, Toledo.
The woman was the back rider of a motorcycle driven by her live-in partner Oliver Pescante Canlobo, 50.
Police said the couple was traversing Barangay Media Once when the motorcycle crashed.
Paragoso was thrown off and landed on the opposite lane and was run over by an oncoming truck.
The driver of the truck, Edelito Oxillar Planco Jr., 35, of Barangay Magdugo, Toledo, was unable to apply the brakes as the incident happened so fast.
The woman was taken to the Toledo City Hospital where she was declared dead.
Planco was arrested and may face a charge for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
